We had to postpone the cultural exchange, it supposed to happen in January 2019 but it will be later this year on October from 14th to 24th.
As you know, BHZ CONNECTION's main aim is to contribute to the educational development of young people and adolescents from low-income families by teaching languages including Portuguese and foreign languages (English, French, Spanish, etc…) as educational tools... In October 2019 we will have a cultural exchange with The Manchester University, New Hope Fellowship Church and others schools and organizations in the UK and we will be bringing some of our students to take part in this cultural exchange... Accommodation, food and transport there is all sorted but we need to buy the plain tickets for 8 students and 3 adults from BHZ Connection's team.
We have provided a safe and positive environment for these vulnerable people since 2010 and are going from strength to strength with all aspects, especially our language classes.
Specifically, we are now fundraising so that these children can keep their language programmes going and some of the most committed and driven will have the incredible opportunity to visit the United Kingdom as part of a cultural exchange. Providing these underprivileged children with experiences and aspirations on a global scale is the next step in their education to encourage them to make the most of the opportunities available to them while opening up many, many more to them along the way. Not to mention, the ability to speak another language is, and always will be, a passport to a better future for these kids, helping them to reduce the impact of their economic situation through education.
In the area where the project is based (Belo Horizonte, south east Brazil) there is a large number of neightborhoods with children and adolescents with extraordinary potential. All they need is a real opportunity to develop their skills... Therefore each day in England will mean a lot to them, as well as having a great impact on their life and providing strong inspiation to each child. The cultural Exchange will also open up their way of thinking, seeing themselves, experiencing and sharing their own understanding of life in a different culture. The results can exceed expectations, as their first participation in such an event in England will open doors for future learning and knowledge sharing. That would bring more strengthening to the communities involved and policies that develop sustainability and social impact.
Anything you can spare will be hugely appreciated by the children at BHZ Connection.
We would be grateful if you can help us out by donating to the campaign and also sharing it with you friends and networks.
If you or your business thinks that they could be able to help us further or would like more information on either the work we do at BHZ Connection, please do not hesitate to email us at [email protected] or [email protected]
