Bhutan Ride Share

Bhutan is a tiny himalayan Buddhist Kingdom with a population of little over 750,000. Due to its mountainous landscapes, road is the only transport means within the country. Moreover, with precarious and meandrous roads, getting from one place to another takes days in car. It is never easy and safe for travellers to travel alone in the car through roads with thick snow cover during winter and with foggy and rainy roads in summer.

Bhutan Ride Share would enable lone travellers to get travel companion while people without cars can find a cheaper rides. The project would create more transport options for Bhutanese commuters with private cars offering cheaper rides, if not free rides. It has never been easy for me to find funding options for the project within the country.

I have been aspiring to build a community driven ride share app that would enable Bhutanese to find cheap and reliable rides. The donation would go a long way to bringing the app to its life and help me realise my dream to help community through the use of technology.
