My name is Joga Singh Khalsa and I am the secretary for Bhai Kanhaiya Humanitarian Aid (BKHA). I'm raising funds through an annual charity cycle fundraiser for BKHA to support their humanitarian work helping victims of human rights abuse and poor families in need, primarily in the Panjab/North West India region and UK.

BKHA is a non profit organisation which started in 2021 with a mission to support victims of human rights, domestic, marital, sexual, caste, force labour, human trafficking. honour violence/killing, child and animal abuse. We aim to help the economy and environment of Panjab through long term ecologyand educational projects to benefit future generations of Panjab's people.

Taking inspiration from the devoted gursikh 'Bhai Kanhaiya ji', who provided first aid to ALL soldiers on the battlefield (including the enemies) we embrace the principles of integrity, compassion and selfless service through our work, recognising humanity as one, and helping people in need; Please read our main cases below

HUMAN TRAFFICKING ABUSE - MUSCAT, OMAN

An ongoing case involving young Panjabi females who were subject to being mislead by third party agencies on travelling to the city of Muscat, Oman. Over the past 8 months, we have helped, rescued several women who were forcefully stuck in Oman due to being unknowingly bought out by Oman residents. They were victims of sexual, domestic abuse and forceful labour.

PANJAB CASES WE HAVE HELPED

- Poor families needing emergency repairs on their property lacking basic facilities such as kitchens, bathrooms and living space. We fundraised through the community to arrange building repairs for the family, and successfully repaired majority of their house.

- Fundraising for patients who are in need of urgent surgeries/medical aid due to leg infections, risk of blindness etc. We had been contacted by their families who are in no circumstances to arrange medical aid. We coordinated with doctors in their town and ensured medical support was provided and paid for. We have supported a few people with various medical problems.

- Drug and Alcohol abuse - We support victims of drug and alcohol addiction. Due to the growing problem of drug use in the Panjab communities, we intervene where victims accept our support on helping them get the aid they need, including liaising with doctors to be monitored and improving their lifestyle and eating habits.

Animal abuse - We have helped dogs in need of veterinary aid, that were subject to physical abuse and hunger unfortunately leading to infections, worms and blindness.

UK CASES WE HAVE HELPED

- Supported victim of fatal road traffic collision - Over the course of 15- 18 Months we supported a student who was left in a comatose state after a fatal incident when crossing the road. We supported the family in arranging the medical facility, monitoring and support needed to maintain his health. He was in a comatose state and unfortunately passed away in 2022.

- Domestic Violence - We have helped victims of domestic violence cases where they needed support from their local authority especially when their children were at risk of harm.

- Property dispute - BKHA has supported people with property matters involving abusive landlord/tenant issues. We helped a family win their property back from overstaying tenants who took over a property from the landlord by force. After a legal dispute and guiding the family, we successfully had them removed.
