Hi,

I'm Matteo, a 23 year old filmmaker from Newcastle currently studying directing at FAMU International in Prague. For my final project I have written a film surrounding the relationship between a Mother and Son.

Gabriel returns home after an attempted suicide at University. He has not spoken to his Mother, Eva, in over two years. Over the course of the night, Gabriel and Eva excavate the depths of their relationship through the conversations we're often too afraid to have.

With this film I want to explore the complexity of motherhood when the strings of adolescent dependency are cut, redefining both their love and care for each other.

We have a completed script, actors and a fully formed crew. Our shooting date is the 18th - 19th of April, hence the urgency of our fundraiser.

- Due to the nature of the shoot, we have to fly and accommodate actors from England to the Czech Republic; something our limited budget is not capable of covering.

- The film is set in a large fully-furnished family home. Such properties are expensive to rent for filming so much of your donations will go towards our location.

- Catering and transportation is similarly a costly endeavour. It is essential that all crew and cast are fed during the two day shoot, as well as being taken to and from the set.

This is a film close to all of our hearts. In a world of big budget blockbusters, we are trying to tell a small intimate story, one in which we hope people will relate to.
