Better Lives For The Needy

Thuranira Kathiai Foundation was established in 2017 in Meru County in Kenya with the founder members and trustees being the Thuranira Kathiai and his team. It was officially registered and recognized by Government of Kenya on 28th June 2020 and incorporated as limited by guarantee company under the companies’s act 2015 of Kenyan laws.

Initially, It started with Thuranira Kathiai responding to the many wants and needs of the Muthara community in Tigania East sub –county in Meru county through one on one donations but with time and with the increasing needs and complexity of the needs of the local people he and his team resolved to come up with a vehicle that would improve and spread out to the rest of Kenyan community with the assistance that was being provided, hence the creation of the Thuranira Kathiai Foundation.

The main objectives and purpose of the foundation is to sensitize youth on effects of drug abuse and to empower them through talent nature, Education to the needy families, promote organic Agriculture & Health, People living with disabilities, catering for the elderly and advocating for justice & equality – the approaches we employ while initiating and meeting our development goals and improving them where necessary are that the beneficiaries and other key stakeholders get involved in the whole process. We believe that lasting solutions are only realized if the people who need support are party to the determination of solutions to their needs.

The idea of setting up a foundation through which we could then set up structures to channel resources and systematically reach it out to people. This has lead to our work being more transparent and thus seeking support from other organisations like friends, families, churches, corporate society, international donors and individuals to help us achieve our Foundation goals has been a lot more attainable.

We endeavour to reach out to as many Kenyans as possible and are hopeful that through the foundation and the goodwill we enjoy from so many individuals and organisations this may be fulfilled.
