Campaign Story
Hey everyone I hope all is well with you in this difficult time. I urge everyone to stay safe!
My name is Bernard Abagali, I graduated from Hobart & William Smith in 2015 and went on to receive my MBA from Wagner College with a concentration in Media Management. After graduation I worked for 8 months in the US but could not get a sponsorship to stay. So I had to move back to Ghana in 2018 for a new start.
It has been very difficult for me to land a job and establish myself in my homeland after being gone for nearly 10 years. Returning home with all my educational and work qualifications, I thought I would be able to get a job in no time. But I was wrong. I came to realize that it is all about who you know and not just your qualifications and experience.
After so many disappointments and people telling me “you are overqualified” and they “can’t pay me,” I started thinking about what to do next. A lot of research later, I realized that poultry farming is one of the most lucrative businesses, regardless of professional skill. I have spent the past year at different poultry farms and developed a huge passion for this business. As a result, I used all my savings to acquire the necessary land and begin construction. I now need your help in bringing this across the finish line. This project is incredibly precious to me and your support can help bring it to life. Giving back has also been part of me and I believe this project would be a great way to give back to the community by providing employment opportunity.
Anything you can contribute will be greatly appreciated!

Bernard, I am a friend of Thad Bennet's. I laud your efforts and living in Guatemala, understand how difficult it is to return home and try to integrate and prosper. I have been in animal production systems most of my life (no longer, but am in plantains) and can tell you that with poultry, you are on the right track. Stay the course and good luck!!
