Berklee College of Music Tuition Fund

My name is Zorina Andrews and I am a 23 year old aspiring singer/ songwriter from an island called Grenada located in the Caribbean. I have been accepted into Berklee College of Music to study voice since Fall 2012 but had to defer my acceptance to Fall 2013 due to financial constraints. As a means of solving my financial situation for Berklee, I re-auditioned in February, 2013 for scholarship consideration in which I received a renewable $10,000 scholarship each year to be divided equally for the two semesters per year. The amount awarded however, and my personal savings is still not sufficient to cover the entire cost of my tuition and additional expenses. Fortunately, this scholarship expires in fall 2014 which allows me to start classes in either spring 2014 or fall 2014. I have now deferred to spring 2014 and I’m still working towards raising funds to start school.

Berklee College of Music is my dream school not only because of its status but also because of its contemporary background and solid educational training and curriculum in music. With Berklee’s training, it will help me to develop as a singer because I have had no formal musical training and everything that I know so far is either self taught or from my various life experiences. Therefore, I am kindly asking for your assistance in helping me fund my education for Berklee so that I can become the singer/ songwriter that I was born to be an in return use my voice and music to encourage and heal this hurting world. 

Breakdown of Cost:

NB: In order to attain my student visa I must show proof of costs for up to one year. Costs below reflect the outstanding balance for the entire year Spring to Fall 2014. All costs are quoted in US.

 $26,014 (remaining Tuition for Year 2014 after {$10,000 scholarship and $500 tuition deposit deduction. The tuition deposit was already paid for.)

$1,072 (Fees)

$2,134 (Health Insurance- to be paid once per academic year)

$3,108 (Laptop- mandatory for all entering students; this is a Macbook that was programmed and designed specifically for Berklee students. This is a onetime only cost)

$3,692 (transportation, books, miscellaneous etc- This is just an estimate cost taken from Berklee Website)

$17,200 (Rent expenses- This is just an estimate cost taken from Berklee Website. I most likely will be staying off-campus)
