Ben Smit - "Devils Disease

My son, Ben is now 30. He was diagnosed with Huntingtons Disease at the age of 21.

At that stage Ben was a brilliant 400m, 800m athlete and only just started with a Teaching career. Unfortunately because of this disease he was not able to continue with his dreams.

He is still fighting this disease although there are currently no cure available. I am taking care of him as good as its humanly possible. His speech and balance are rapidly deteriorating.

There are a few things that I want to do, to make life for him as easy and "shining" as possible. One of his dreams is just to see the sea again and the closest from us is about 600 km. I would also liked to employ a full time carer as I am a full time working dad. I want to buy him new clothes and get him small things he is requesting from time to time.
