Hello,

My name is Lady Belleview.

I am a 116 year old 820,000 square foot wood constructed hotel situated above the bluffs of Belleair, on the Gulf Coast of Florida.

I was built between 1895 and 1896 by rairoad tycoon Henry B. Plant, and started my long career as the Belleview Hotel on January 15,1897.

Over the course of my long journey,I have watched the countryside on which I stand tansform into a metropoliton, and am myself responsible for some of that transformation.

I can be undeniably linked to the rich history of the town in which I stand, having provided the land on which their first houses were built. I am also responsible for my towns police and fire departments being formed, as they were originally owned and operated by my owners, and were housed on my grounds until the 1940's and 50's. Then, there is Morton Plant Hospital, founded in 1916 through the cheritable contribution of my second owner, and so forth named after him.

I had a long and rich history as the "White Queen Of The Gulf" from 1897 to 2009, when I was closed for renovations.

Unfortunately for me, those renovations never came, and today I stand empty and alone, ailing due to the lack of attention and care. In fact, my current owners wish to demolish me to replace me with younger thin model condos and private parks, despite public outcry.

But, I have been give a new sence of hope, as a family so wishes to adopt me and nurse me back to health. They intend on refurbishing me to my former glory, with a little cosmetic face lifting where needed. To reopen me as a public access hotel, museum, and historic tourist attraction.

Though their intentions are good and heart felt, and my community is approving, they need financial help as this is a major undertaking.

Can you help an "Old Southern Bell" stay alive, then come visit me in the days before my Grand Re-Opening. I'm sure the new family will through me a grand party to honor those who have helped save this "Grand Old Lady". There will be a dinner, with presentations of plaques, and my introduction into historical archives. I also know of a wall that is to be placed upon my grounds in the honor of my supporters, as well as journals to be housed in my museum containing all the names of my contributors. And the best honor of all, the dedication of my 15 halls in the honor you-my new found family.

Please visit www.belleviewpreservation.com to read more about my history, and the efforts to save me.
