Bella’s Ear Op (for her 10th Birthday)

Our daughter Bella, almost 10, has always had prominent ears. It hasn't bothered her at all until recently, in fact I'm not sure she even noticed. We always knew the day would come where she would feel self-conscious and her peers would notice her prominent ears.

So the day came, today in fact. She had been refusing to go to school and being very angry about the littlest things. Eventually she opened up and told us about children in her class at school said she looked weird. She said it's because of her 'pointy ears'. My heart was broken. How can children be so mean? Her confidence has been shattered and is going to be hard to rebuild.

We got her to school and had discussions with the teachers and told her we would try to help her through this.

So here we are, crowdfunding for Otoplasty for Bella. An operation to 'pin' her ears back.

South Africa has incredibly high medical costs. Our medical insurance won't cover such a procedure and we are looking for help.
