What am I doing?

Hi! My name is Kiernan and I am a student at Penn State University. On spring break in March, I will be going to the Toledo District of Belize with a team of college students to renovate St. Benedict's primary school for young children. We will be remodeling a library, constructing a computer lab, preparing a garden, and building a preschool room.

Why am I doing this?

The average household income in the toledo District of Belize is less than $6,000 U.S. dollars a year and renting a small two-bedroom flat is $300 a month! The people of the Toledo District have been building this Primary School for 8 years in hopes of having a better school for their children, but they do not have the supplies or financial resources to complete the project. My team and I will be working for 7 days straight to finish St. Benedict's and make the dream of having a great primary school a reality.

What is the money being used for?

My team and I are all fundraising to accomplish this project. The money will go towards buying supplies, such as garden materials, tools, books, and other resources.

Rewards!

I am asking for $50 in donations, but every dollar helps. As an added incentive, I will mail a postcard and a souvenir from Belize to anyone who donates $10 or more to my cause.

Thank you for your help and know that you are a part of making this project happen!

Rewards

I will send you a postcard and souvenir from Belize.
