Since she was 5 years old, Nihaya Awadallah– A.K.A Jerusalem Chevalier- has been passionate about horse riding. Her love for horses has been the center of her success in addition to her special talent. At the young age of 6 she had her first local show jumping competition and won 2nd place on a borrowed horse. She was the youngest rider on the podium and continued since then to achieve a long list of firsts for the Palestinian equestrian sport locally, regionally and internationally.

NIna's first competition jump at 6 years old

My daughter Nina - as we call her at home – now 15 years old has become the top show jumping rider in Palestine and has the most honorable FEI record in the history of Palestinian equestrian sport that includes many podium wins. She is a young rider for a young country and thus no stranger to challenges and obstacles. With no support from Palestinian institutions or sponsorship she was yet able to achieve major accomplishments in the sport with the help of her parents, family and friends. She became an example for many young riders especially female athletes in the Arab world. Her name became synonymous with achieving what many deemed not possible in a region full of obstacles for her gender as well as her nationality.

Recently her only horse got ill and is still under recovery. However, as usual, with her resilience and persistent nature she was able to qualify for the FEI Group VII junior championship. This competition is a critical one

for achieving her dream to represent Palestine in the Olympics. Her mare’s illness has exhausted us financially but we are optimistic of her recovery very soon and hopefully in time for the finals.
We need your help to raise money for expenses which includes travel, accommodations, competition fees and logistics for her horse and team. Without your help and support Nina will become a victim of the circumstances and miss on her opportunity to represent Palestine in this critical championship and risk her from achieving her long awaited dream of getting to the Olympics.

This competition is critical to get her a step closer to her goal of being the first Olympic Rider in Show Jumping for Palestine and we need your support to help her get closer to her dream.Shipping the horse alone will cost over $10,000 and we are seeking all sponsorship possible.

Your sponsorship for this event no matter how small will surely encourage and motivate her to keep pushing all the limitations and obstacles she is facing as a young female Palestinian rider. Many thought that getting to this was not possible! However, with Nina’s talent and love for horses she has lead the way for Palestinian riders young and old and demonstrated that desire, persistence, passion and resilience along with God's provision are surely to overcome all obstacles.
