Beating Bone Cancer!

My name is Tiffany. I'd like to tell you a story about my friend, Misty. a few weeks ago she was diagnosed with one of the rarer forms of cancer, bone cancer. Completely unaware that she even had it until she was injured at work and an x-ray discovered it. Originally doctors told her it was benign and nothing to worry about until she got a second opinion. It was there that the doctor confirmed bone cancer. An MRI told her doctor it was very aggressive and that surgery was inevitable and would possibly have to have a metal plate inserted into her arm. There is even the possibility of amputation if the surgery goes wrong.

Obviously she wasn't prepared for this, mentally, emotionally and of course financially. She has spent all her savings on medical bills and while she can and is able to work now, during the surgery she will not be able to for at least 6 weeks, maybe longer. I started this fundraiser to help my dearest friend during that time, so she can at least have the peace of mind that her bills will be paid while she has the surgery and after during recovery. She is a single mother of 2 young daughters and while this is hard for her, it is equally hard on them. 

While I started this to help Misty, I also started this as an awareness to rare diseases and cancers and that while people don't think they can get it, there is always that possibility and people should be prepared in the event it happens, because had Misty have known or even felt like something like this would have happened, she would have taken some sort of short term disability to aid her.
