Beat Hunger in Pickens

Pickens County Meals on Wheels needs your help.

This organization helps to combat the effects of hunger, loneliness, and isolation on senior citizens living in Pickens County. Meals on Wheels volunteers provide not only food, but also a lifeline to the outside world to these citizens.

From accompanying my dad and my grandfather on their Meals on Wheels routes, I have seen first-hand the impact the program has on seniors in our community. The volunteers provide warm meals and company for lonely seniors. Sadly, for many clients, the Meals on Wheels volunteers are often their only source of contact outside of their homes. My dad, on many occasions, is the only visitor these seniors receive. 

In the past year, Meals on Wheels served over 50,000 hot meals to 360 homebound senior citizens in Pickens County. Unfortunately, there are hundreds of new applicants each year. With the waiting list growing ever longer and the problem of hunger worsening, Meals on Wheels needs your support more now than ever. 

$5.00 - Buys one meal for a hungry senior

 $20.00 - Feeds a senior for one week

$100.00 - Feeds a senior for one month

 $1,200 - Feeds a senior for an entire year     

100% of your contribution will benefit Pickens County Meals on Wheels.
