This is for my daughter's friend... a 12 year old girl battling with Leukemia. It's very hard for me to see how she was just a very cheerful girl then, and now, in the middle of a pandemic we heard this unbelievable horrifying news. She was recently diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia.

Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) is a cancer of the blood and bone marrow — the spongy tissue inside bones where blood cells are made.

The word "acute" in acute myelogenous leukemia denotes the disease's rapid progression. It's called myelogenous (my-uh-LOHJ-uh-nus) leukemia because it affects a group of white blood cells called the myeloid cells, which normally develop into the various types of mature blood cells, such as red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. (More info here https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/acute-myelogenous-leukemia/symptoms-causes/syc-20369109#:~:text=Overview,denotes%20the%20disease's%20rapid%20progression.)

Let me also tell you more about her and our relationship with Bea. She is like a daughter to me as she grew up being very close to my daughter. She is one in 5 siblings.

They struggle to make ends meet with daily expenses in the household as right now, they only have their dad to support them financially. The rest of her siblings are also minors.

Their living situation is already difficult and I cannot imagine how this news affected them even more.

Bea is one of my daughter's closest friends and they have another close friend named Ayen. They all grew up together in the same neighborhood until Bea had to go to the province with her mom and siblings when she was about 6 years old.

Bea and her siblings went back here when she was about 10 years old... returning here without her mom, yes... Unfortunately, this is the time when her parents decided to part ways.

At this time of sadness, she found happiness hanging out with Ayen and Chelsea and they call themselves ABC... Ayen Bea Chelsea... They became inseparable and would do a lot of things together. Her family trusts us so much that they will allow her to sleep here in our house at times.

When she was diagnosed, the Doctor attending to Bea explained to her and her family, the things that they may expect. They were told that Bea will be needing chemotherapy and may be having this for about 3 years. According to the doctor, the treatment does not gurantee anything... but it is very good opportunity to have.

She is like a daughter to me... a sister to my two girls (my other child is Chloe)...

She is a caring sister... a thoughtful aunt... an obedient granddaughter... and a very loving daughter...

She is very young and I firmly believe that she deserves more in this life.

We cannot help everyone but everyone can help someone...

And I also believe that "No act of kindness is ever too small".

ANY help, is a BIG help...

ANY help, is very well appreciated...

Everyone can help with a monetary donation... by sharing this campaign in any social media platforms... or a simple prayer...

Everyone can make a difference...

Thank You!
