“A people without knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.” –Marcus Garvey-. This pretty much says it all.
In 1937, the United Fruit Companystarted operations here, in Quepos - Costa Rica, shaping what we are now. Our mission it to collect, print and display historical photos and objects of our area. Yes, our project is to open a museum. Your contribution will help us start our historical museum recovering our past, so we can teach our children and generations to come, about this incredible piece of Costa Rican history. Collecting, printing and displaying hundreds of historical photos - along with amazing objects -, is an incredible and expensive task.
Here’s how your contribution will support our project: $50 can help us print at least 20 photographs, or can help us build the displays for 5 or six photos. Also it can help us restore incredible tools and machinery. Not to talk about he over 800 photographs stored in the United Fruit Company Photograph Collection, in Boston MA.
Thanks to your donation, this task will be faster and easier. The Museum of Quepos Historic Photographs and Objects, will have a huge impact on our community, especially among the student population, and you can be part of it!
