Hello, My name is Anthea and I am a single mother to 2 beautiful children. I am a kindergarten teacher, owner of a self funded kindergarten since 2015. I have also assisted other parent initiatives in growing their own kindergartens to serve their local communities by having a loving and safe place for the youngest of children to learn in an environment that is theirs to explore. My school was covering costs and growing in its capacity to hold more teachers with variations of skills and more children were joining us.

We are based in the Sunny island of Cyprus where the economy is largely dependent on tourism.

In March 2020 everything changed. Schools shut down and families lost their livelihood. This global crisis is about to take everything away that I have worked so hard to build. I had to let go of the school that I worked to build from scratch through hard work and funded it all myself. What I managed to create made me proud of my contribution to the world. It was a challenging road, I went without for years to build something that my children will be proud of and be a worthy example and a beacon of hope in these times of change and challenge. I overcame all these challenges by always putting the children first!

My ability to work was instantly cut off with the national lockdown and schools closing. I was suddenly left without an income and my 2children who were depending on me. I was happy with the success of the school but to be honest we werent earning much. It was enough for our simple island life. To add to the difficulty, my bank had put a hold on my account unfairly further cutting me off from finacial support from the government as there was no possible way for me to get the documentation required because of mandates issued and the bank knew this. It was unfair timing but I held my head up high and waiting until the restrictions were over and then opened up a children's summer club for children to enjoy time with their friends and make the best of a challenging summer in these uncertain times.

I am doing the best I can and still the bills keep piling up and the collectors keep knocking at the door. The landlord has warned me that if I am not able to cover for the 3months we were in lockdown then he will not renew my lease and everything I have worked for will be gone.

I want to thank you for reading this far and giving me your valuable time. I understand these days are tough on anybody and it has taken so much for me to even feel comfortable to ask for assistance from you but my family depends on it. If you can spare some change to help see us through this storm by weathering the gap of uncertainty, so that we can continue to strengthen in our work at Heart Hill Farm, a place dedicated to creating a genuine love of learning within each child and help families within our local and international community with support in Parenting, Childbirth, Childcare and most importantly Education.

“Our highest endeavor must be to develop free human beings who are able of themselves to impart purpose and direction to their lives. The need for imagination, a sense of truth, and a feeling of responsibility—these three forces are the very nerve of education.”
―Rudolph Steiner

"Regard man as a mine rich in gems of inestimable value. Education can, alone, cause it to reveal its treasures, and enable mankind to benefit therefrom."

Baháʼu'lláh

I am very grateful for your support! Thank you!
