Taking our city back one building at a time. Be a part of the building of our new 24 hour daycare home and the revitalization of the 3100 blk of Reach Street in Kensington. Taking two buildings on the verge of destruction and tranforming them into a viable Community Asset.

Since 2012 the Association of Child Daycare Providers, Inc. has operated 24 hour childcare facilities in Kensington-North, South and NE Philadelphia. In 2018 the economy dealt us a crushing blow, Pennsylvania had a state budget crisis and daycares that accepted low income clients were not paid from July 2009 to October 2009. After the crisis resolved itself all of our parents lost their jobs, except two families. We closed four location by 2019.

Our very first childcare location, opened 12 years ago at 3125 Reach Street, the property has changed hands many times and fell into disrepair. The adjoining property which was not available to us 12 years ago are now available and the owner wishes to donate the property to our cause. The street on which these properties are located have fallen into a depressed state. With three houses on the block demolished and one other slated for demolition, we want to save these two properties as well as many others and make them viable and vibrant again.

We were recently approved for a $20,000 loan by Entrepreneur Works to purchase 3125 Reach as a pre-forclosure sale at $5,000 and $15,000 to be used to fix the facade, electrical updates, drywall and flooring and add a new kitchen and bath. We would like to raise an additional $20,000 to rehab the property next door. These properties are of sound construction with both roofs and plumbing intact, $20,000 could provide the cosmetic repairs needed in order to create 3,000 sq feet of childcare space.
