I hope you can find a few minutes to read this letter to the end as it can really help restore my friend's life.
I have been privileged to get to know some ladies through Sons & Daughters, a HK-based NGO that works to restore lives hurt by red-light districts. One particular friend whom we call Jubilee (for safety reasons) was trafficked at a young age, has been trying for many years to earn her way back to her home country.
Jubilee’s plan to rejoin her family has been delayed due to the coronavirus. Not to mention how it’s been hard for her to complete saving for her small business starting fund (fruit juice & coffee), as the days she is staying in HK is getting longer than planned.
No amount is too small!
Below is Jubilee’s fundraiser letter.
Be A Part of Jubilee’s Turning Point
Hello, I am Jubilee from Africa. I was brought to Asia on a promise of a good job that would help me take care of my family back home but unfortunately it was a human trafficking situation. My naivety led me to this very unpleasant life that has left me broken but I don't want to lose hope because I believe better days are coming!
I am here to ask for your help, I am fundraising for my dream Juice and coffee bar which I believe will be a great way of getting back on my feet and supporting my family (mom and 3 young siblings). I am hoping to raise 20,000 HKD (roughly 2,580 USD).
