Home of Joy is a charitable institution which caters to children with special needs. It is run by the Missionaries of Charity which was founded by Mother Theresa of Calcutta to serve the poorest of the poor. The center, located in Tondo, Manila, serves as a home for 59 children consisting of 16 boys and 43 girls—mostly sick and/or are physically/mentally challenged. Many of them are suffering from hydrocephalous, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, blindness, and/or combination of these. Most children are abandoned—with some of them left by their parents as they are physically and financially unable to take care of their sick children.

Anam Cara Manila, a growing family of Yoga & Meditation Practitioners, celebrates its 3rd Anniversary this April 15th in Tondo with the children of Home of Joy. The event, which will include lunch, singing, and kids yoga, is our little way of giving back and sharing our love and blessings to the kids. All accumulated funds will be used to buy their needs like food, grocery items, milk & diapers for the babies, and other necessities that will be donated to the center.

Through this activity, Anam Cara Manila aims to bring awareness to communities like Home of Joy that provides the basic needs of those at the margins of society.

We feel that if we can make a difference in a child's life, even for a moment, we can send out ripples of Love across space and time.

Namaste 🙏
