Bazar bizarre family needs your help

Hey everybody!

This is Radost, Meli and Mama Vesna. We are the core of Bazar Family also known as Bizarre Family. This is how we refer to the incredible people - staff, guests and volunteers - that we’ve met through working at Bazar Hostel in Budapest, Hungary. It is a family regardless of origin or circumstances. Those who know us, know we poured our hearts out into making Bazar Hostel a home away from home for anyone that needed it. It was our home too.

Unfortunately, because of the current COVID-19 pandemic, the hostel had to close its doors immediately and unexpectedly, and what’s even worse - for an uncertain period of time. Just coming out of what we call low season, this was a hit that the hostel couldn’t survive. From one day to the next, just like that, all of us lost our jobs.

Moreover, given the circumstances, we were unable to receive our salaries for the last month we worked. We could always count on each other and all of a sudden we were incapable of supporting ourselves, let alone one another. This campaign is solely aimed at helping us (the staff) through this crisis, while we are working towards getting back on our feet.

We really hope we have positively contributed to people’s lives through our work. If you have ever had an unforgettable moment and memory with us, we kindly ask for your support. We understand this is a difficult time for many, so any contribution, however small, would be greatly appreciated. Telling us a funny story of your stay with us in the comments will also warm our hearts!
