Baybee the lovebird medical fund

If you have been following our Instagram account (https://www.instagram.com/baybeethelovebird/), our beloved Baybee the lovebird has been ill for about 2-3 months.

Baybee started vomiting pretty badly one day and was diagnosed with bacteria and yeast infection (crop infection).

She had a long battle with this infection and was hospitalized on a few occasions. A few times, we thought we almost lose her as she was so sick and her weight dropped from 49g to 38g.

However, Baybee has been a fighter. With lots of care and professional help from the vets, she slowly recovered and made improvements. Baybee also ate heartily and her weight increased steadily.

Just last week, the infection came back and Baybee hasn’t stopped vomiting since, even with medication. Vet care is extremely expensive and as Baybee’s sole caregiver, it has exhausted quite a fair bit of my savings.

From the receipts which I’ve kept, Baybee’s medical bill is about $1,700 till date (or more). I have spent about $350 on grab/uber rides to transport Baybee to and fro the vet as pets are not allowed on public transport. I have also threw out $300+ worth of toys and cage in an effort to minimize the cause of infection.

So here I am, in hope that fellow animal/pet lovers will be able to help me out. Baybee is still in need of medical attention and your contribution can help us for the upcoming 2-3 vet consultations. A small contribution goes a long way and your generosity is greatly appreciated.

In the event that we have monies left over from consultations, fund will be donated to an animal welfare group which will be decided by our Instagram followers through a poll.
