Bayans take on Aus

Meet the False Bay Lifesavers, better known as Bayans, a passion filled team with DREAMS that NEED YOUR HELP ACHIEVING! During the summer months we will be found patrolling the local beaches of South Africa, more specifically the Cape Town region, educating the public on harsh sea conditions as well as doing our best to prevent drownings, this of course is on a volunteer basis.

At the same time, we train in the competitive side of lifesaving which is not well funded in our country, for this reason most of us have to squeeze our training in between work and studies. Our specific competitive events are beach flags, sprints and the beach relay - all of which require hours of hard work, strategy, mental strength and a conditioned, explosive body that can tackle the soft sands.

WITH YOUR HELP we will be able to compete at the World Lifesaving Championships in Adelaide in November of this year. Our boys claimed bronze in 2016's beach relay and are gunning for gold this year, with the girls focused of making finals in their respective events. On top of this our team came 5th in THE WHOLE WORLD in 2016!!
