I grew up in a small and charming little city in the Bicol Region named Iriga. When asked where it is, people from there would often say, "It is where Nora Aunor came from." Here my persona was shaped by it's rustic way of living made more wonderful by the people i grew up with. One of them was Ricky Orbon, or Iking as we call him, is a very quiet boy who i went to school with since i can't remember when. He would come in daily in his pristine blue and white uniform, sit through the classes and would go about his day. He was not one of the pop kids then but he would always have a smile and an ear to lend if ever you crossed paths.

As time and age got the better of all of us, people went their own paths. Visits to the hometown became scarce and connections with former classmates scarcer. Until a few days ago when an update was made in our Facebook batch page that one of us needs help. It's Iking. He has been diagnosed with NASOPHARYNEAL CANCER Stage 4. Damn, Big C.

Iking has made something of himself as he has been appointed Nurse Team Lead under the Department of Health project in Caramoan. He has been helping the community since 2013. With no family of his own yet, he has been supporting his aging parents with his earnings from his profession while at the same time giving back to this beautiful rural community. His ailment started in April 2016 when he frequently experienced colds, nasal discharges, headache and tinnitus (ringing of the ear). it just got worse from there.

Iking needs our financial help so he can undergo chemotherapy and radiation at the Lung Center of the Philippines. This has robbed him of his ability to support his parents, give back to the community, and live a life. Worse, threatening to take his life. I humbly ask your generous hearts to share your blessing to someone who has so much to share. Let us give him a fighting chance and beat the odds against this illness.

Any amount that you can share will definitely go a long way.
