Campaign Story
Making this fundraiser to help out my friend Brian Sabiti. Brian is a Batwa Pygmy, an indigenous people who used to live in the tropical forests in Uganda, Rwanda and the eastern DR Congo as hunter-gatherers. Their lifestyle came to an abrupt end in 1991, when the Batwa were forced out of their forest to make a Gorilla Reserve. Since then, most Batwa live as homeless wanderers, forced to beg for a living. Starvation, discrimination and abject poverty are the grim reality for the Batwa. Brian is a resilient and resourceful man who's helping out his people by actively working to create a shelter home for Batwa orphans. However, he has gotten into a bad accident a few days ago when a vehicle crashed into him. He has since been hospitalized and is thankfully recovering. But he needs support to help him pay for his hospital bill. I created this fundraiser to help him with his treatment bills.
Brian is a father, community leader and an advocate for his people's rights. Let's help him to get him back to representing his people, which is what he does best.
Thanks so much for your help.
