Aubrey Bell has worked in the photography industry for almost 20 years as well as having been a photographer all her life.  She has an amazing eye for the subtleness of life.  Through her lens so many things you would have never noticed or even imagined stand revealed.

She says of her art - "I always look at everything as negative space before I see what is there. I look for patterns in light. I look for oddities of balance that still work. I love old cemeteries because they are becoming extinct, modern memorial gardens may be easy to mow, but they are soulless and artless. I look for patterns in color and texture. I love stone. I love contrasts, in color, pattern and context. I find beauty in many things that are broken and disused. I look for small things and perspectives that are generally overlooked. I do shoot digital, and do some editing, but I will not edit in a way or use filters that I know that I cannot do with film. I used to shoot a lot if types of infrared film, and I cross processed many types of film."

Working in small genre shows around the Raleigh area for years and now bringing her work to the Metro Atlanta area has strained time and resources.  She needs seed money for: a tent for displaying at art faires, entry fees to art shows/faires, display materials, printing/packaging art, vendor fees, promotional stuff, website fees and design, legal stuff (DBAs, LLC and business licenses) and hopefully some kind of tablet for portfolio use.

So why now you ask?  Why after all this time is she asking for the help of friends and loved ones?  "The economy, a dead end job, serious medical bills and mostly my own insecurity. I did attend art school, but did not finish, turns out it is quite expensive. Landing in the hospital this year was a wakeup call to having to start this or never being able to do it.
I have also never had a significant other that supported me and my art like the one I have now, or so fully believed in me. Now is the right time. There has been interest and support from the artists I help as a part of my day job as well."

And it is not all just for the feeling good of helping someone.  She has sweetened the pot with these ideas as well.
