Hello.

I’m Simon Skaza age of 24. I’m a Mechatronik by profession, 2 Exams away from my Diploma. I work in a small company that lets me work across the whole Europe. It is a lonely but rewarding job that i love to do !

I had a small accident 7.8.2018 that had me forced to go to the doctors, which i rarely do(my last visit was in 2012). They had a pyhsical check on me and then an xray which turned out to be a hard hit from a fall and nothing was broken.
He then asked me if i have any other issues, i replied that i only have lover back pain and that i sometimes get very tired very soon and that it felt weird to me sometimes why, i also said that it is very hard for me to eat sometimes.
So he replied if i wish to undergo a few blood and urine tests. I was very hesitant because i have no insurance and that would mean additional costs to the bill, but something in me was telling me to do it.
I said yes. They take my blood and urine, i carelessly wait in the waiting room not knowing what is ahead of me the nurse finnaly shows up and tells me that my blood sample is high in Alpha fetoprotein and that my urine is very dark colored and that an Ultrasound scan is necessary. I replied that i do not have any money anymore and the nurse went back inside but to soon come out again and told me that i do not have to pay for the Ultrasound that they will make an exception.
I underwent the procedure very quickly, the doctor did not speak to me the whole time.. i remember it being uncomftable. Lots of toughts were flying through my mind, what could this be what if it is something serious. Soon after the nurse comes out calls my name and i go directly into the doctors room, i see the doctor i remember my heart raced like crazy and i sit down. Doctor says that my liver is more nodular that they expected, i had no idea what he said so i replied. What does nodular mean, there was a moment of silence there, then says it straight away : You probably have cancer in early stages. My heart stopped when he said it, i gotten cold shivers and cold sweat, i was totaly overwhelmed by the diagnosis but was thinking in the back of my mind maybe i can beat it without any procedures or whatsoever while it is stil in early stages so i did not listen to a word the doctor said and just took the bill and left the doctors office.
Then i went out and the nurse said it would be advised if i come back in a month or two and i acctualy heard what she said so i replied yes count me in just tell me when over the telephone. The nurse calls me the same hour and tells me to come 25.10.2018 for a check, and i went home. Thinking what am i going to do when i get home.
Do i tell my Mother that i have Cancer? I came to a conclussion to not tell my mother about it and just try to beat this on my own with home remedies and good healthy eating. So i did, i ate the best fish i could find and the best vegetables.. but i still felt the pain in my back sometimes and got tired very quick at times. Days have passed untill it reached day 25.10 when i had to go to the doctor again.
I wake up 7:30 in the morning and take the bus to the doctor, i arrive and the nurse recognises me straight away, says Hello and asks how i am and that i will be called in shortly. The wait never felt longer.. i was thinking i am there for 1 hour but infact it was just 10 minutes, so the nurse finnaly calls me i go in and say that i will pay for any tests that i have undergo today. They put me through Ultrasound, CT and Blood-Urine sample all very quick and i sit again in the waiting room hoping for the best, that the food and tea made a impact.. I was called after about 10 minutes of waiting to come into the doctors office. So he immedietly starts to talk about my results. He says that blood and urine samples are pretty much the same except that we have new bad news. So i was already positive thinking it got better, and he says : Simon you have Stage A Cancer and you will need an transplant. I felt my world crash, i suddenly started to cry. He gives me a few minutes to come to my senses and starts to talk about my insurance, that i do not have insurance and this is a costly surgery. He said that he already made calculations on how much the cost would be. I asked how much, he replied 75,000€. The first thing that came into my mind was i am dead, there is nothing i can do. He said that the surgery is cheap compared to some cases..That this price includes 3 months of treatment after surgery and a lifelong supply of pills to accept my new liver.

I am thankfull to be part of this incredible support network, and appreciate really everything you can do to help me reach my goal by donating and/or sharing this page.

I humbly thank you for helping me in this battle with cancer !
