Who Am I?

I'm William G. I've been testing software for leading gaming manufacturing companies and test laboratories since 2002. Before that, I designed websites and conducted search engine optimization/marketing campaigns professionally. I am the owner of Look Sharp Designs, a custom web design company. While I still do that occasionally, I'm launching a new business, Battle Born Vapors.

What is Battle Born Vapors?

Battle Born Vapors is a company that makes and sells vape juices for use in electronic cigarettes, personal vaporizers, advanced personal vaporizers, electronic pipes, etc. The business model is primarily online sales, though the business does provide local pickup and delivery to customers in Las Vegas, NV. I aim to offer more vape juice personalization options that many companies do not offer. I also intend to offer other online features that no other company currently offers.

What's with the Name?

I wanted the business name to reflect the fact that the business resides in Las Vegas, NV. Las Vegas is known for its casinos, gambling and adult entertainment, but Sin City Vapors was already taken. I thought of going with something like Red Rock Vapor Emporium as Red Rock State Park is nearby, but there are onther "Red Rocks" around the country. Then I thought of using the whole Area 51 motif... Area 51 Vapors or something similar. But it just didn't have that ring to it. Then my wife suggested Battle Born Vapors and I absolutely loved it. But what's the significance you ask? Nevade was admitted into the Union during the Civil War and it's motto is "Battle Born." So that's the connection. Nevada's state colors are cobalt blue and silver (Nevada is also known as the Silver State for its silver mining rush in the 1800s). Thus, the Battle Born Vapors website also sports cobalt blue and silver, along with white, black and gray.

My Motivation

I was a pack a day plus smoker for more than 20 years. Along the way, I developed a rather persistent smoker's cough, which made me sound like I was sick all the time, even though I wasn't. I quit smoking multiple times, cold turkey and using nicotine patches, gum, lozenges, sprays, etc. Those methods had varying levels of success, but I always started smoking again at some point and back came that blasted cough. In 2011, my wife had a cancer scare and quit smoking on the spot, and insisted that I quit too. It wasn't going well for us after just 3 days. I happened to stop into a Walgreens for some cold medicine when I noticed some disposable electronic cigarettes displayed with all of the other cigarette products. I promptly bought a couple to try and my wife and I have been cigarette free ever since. We moved from disposable electronic cigarettes to electronic cigarettes with prefilled cartridges and eventually to more advanced electronic cigarettes, called personal vaporizers and advanced personal vaporizers. These have larger tanks and can be filled with a llquid of our choice. These liquids, or as I call them, vape juices, can have varying strengths of nicotine, even zero nicotine, and a variety for flavors. After purchasing these liquids from other vendors for a few months, I realized I wasn't totally satisfied with the flavors they offerred. So, I learned to make my own. Now I want to share my vape juices with others people who use electronic cigarettes, also known as vapers. That, in a nutshell, is my story and motivation for starting up Battle Born Vapors.

What Your Donations Will Be Used For

I started making various vape juice flavors for myself, my wife, friends and local Las Vegas, NV customers, but I need funding to begin selling outside of Las Vegas. Your donations will be used to create the formal business entity, secure state and local business licenses and sales tax permits and a payment gateway needed to take payments on our website. Any money remaining will be used to purchase additional supplies, such as additional flavor extracts and concentrates, other ingredients, packaging, laboratory supplies for mixing vape juices (pipettes, scales, beakers, flasks, etc.), additional website features and advertising.

Grand Opening Date

If we meet our goal, we expect to have our Grand Opening on or about August 31, 2013.

Rewards

The rewards below are geared to those people who would use Battle Born Vapors' products, but there are a couple of higher level rewards that contain items that vapers and non-vapers alike will enjoy. Please note that there are no substitutions for rewards. If you don't want the reward, you can tell us you don't want it, but we won't substitute something else as compensation.

Turquoise Level

Everyone who donates will have his or her name displayed on Battle Born Vapors' Contributors page.

Gold Level

With a donation of $10 or more, you get your name listed on Battle Born Vapors' Contributors page along with your photo and a coupon for 10% off and free shipping on one order made through the Battle Born Vapors website after the Grand Opening date. 

Sapphire Level

With a donation of $25 or more, you get your name listed on Battle Born Vapors' Contributors page along with your photo and a free 10 ml bottle of any flavor of vape juice listed on the Battle Born Vapors website on the Grand Opening date.

Emerald Level

With a donation of $50 or more, you get your name listed on Battle Born Vapors' Contributors page along with your photo and a free 30 ml bottle of any flavor of vape juice listed on the Battle Born Vapors website on the Grand Opening date.

Ruby Level

With a donation of $100 or more, you get your name listed on Battle Born Vapors' Contributors page along with your photo and a free 50 ml bottle of any flavor of vape juice listed on the Battle Born Vapors website on the Grand Opening date.

Diamond Level

With a donation of $250 or more, you get your name listed on Battle Born Vapors' Contributors page along with your photo, three (3) free 50 ml bottles of any flavor (mix and match) of vape juice listed on the Battle Born Vapors website on the Grand Opening date and two (2) tickets to the Sin City Comedy Show at Planet Hollywood Casino.  The Diamond Level Reward is limited to ten (10) donors.

Silver Level

With a donation of $500 or more, you get your name listed on the Battle Born Vapors' Contributors page along with your photo, three (3) 50 ml bottles of any flavor (mix and match) of vape juice listed on the Battle Born Vapors website on the Grand Opening date and two (2) tickets to Rock of Ages at the Venetian Hotel and Casino. The Silver Level Reward is limited to five (5) donors.

Blue Cobalt Level

With a donation of $1000 or more, you get your name listed on Battle Born Vapors' Contributors page along with your photo, one (1) 8 ml bottle of every vape juice flavor listed on the Battle Born Vapors website on the Grand Opening date and two (2) tickets to the Blue Man Group at the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino.  The Cobalt Blue Level Reward is limited to three (3) donors.

Reward Disclaimers

Battle Born Vapors is not responsible for travel to and from Las Vegas and accommodations during your stay. To receive your tickets, you must provide 30 days advance notice of your visit to Las Vegas (for Las Vegas residents, you must provide the date you'd like to see the show 30 days in advance). We require this advanced notice so that we have time to purchase the tickets and mail them to you before your trip/show. If the show is no longer playing or will be dark at the time of your visit, Battle Born Vapors will select another show at a price comparable to that of the listed show. If you do not give Battle Born Vapors the minimum 30 days advance notice, you forfeit your show tickets. Tickets must be claimed by August 31, 2014. Failure to claim show tickets by August 31, 2014 will result in forfeiture of show tickets. Show locations may change as shows often change venues as contracts expire.

Because taste is subjective, vape juices cannot be returned or exchanged. Please keep this in mind when you select your vape juices as you may not like the vape juice flavor(s) you selected.

If your donation is of the Gold Level or above, you are responsible for emailing your photo to Battle Born Vapors using the return email address supplied in the email you receive from Battle Born Vapors thanking you for your donation. It must be a photo only in .jpg, .jpeg or .png format. No family photos, photos of your children, avatars, caricatures, drawings, etc. are allowed. You must own the copyright for your photo.

Cash substitutions for stated rewards are not allowed.
