Campaign Story
Ikhaya Loxolo (Home of Peace) Old Age Home is situated in Gugulethu and has 122 live in residents of which 46 are wheelchair bound. Some do not have family members and for some their children do not live in Cape Town and maybe see them once or twice a year.
The Gugulethu Religious Fellowship is raising funds to buy sleepwear, sleepers and toiletries for the residents. This is start of an outreach program planned to be taken to other areas to be identified in the near future.
The total funding we are looking for is R50000,00 in total, which works out to almost R410 per resident. This amount can buy a pair of sleepers, a night dress/pyjama set and a supply of toiletries for 6 months.
We have set the 27th of April (Freedom Day in South Africa) as the date that we would present them with the gifts, just to let them know that they are not forgotten.
