Baseball Siblings, Ethan & Leah are going places!

Ethan (14yrs) and Leah (10yrs) are both Baseball addicts and achieving, due to all their hard work and commitment. They both live, eat and sleep Baseball.

They have both been selected to represent Western Province Baseball teams (regional team of South Africa) in their respective age groups. The teams will be travelling to Hoy Park Sports Complex, Durban, to participate in the annual National Baseball Championship from 30 March to 4 April 2018.

Ethan catchers and will play in the u15A side, he is very knowledgeable and a versatile player, so we might see him play in other positions too. This will be Ethan 7th time, he will represent WP Baseball at an NBC.

Ethan sister, Leah has made the WP u12B Team. She is the only girl selected across all age groups (u10 to u18)

Leah plays middle infield and crushes the ball, she really can show the boys a thing or two. She also has great knowledge of the game and turning double plays and the odd Triple is what she does.

In South Africa, Baseball is considered a minor sport and does not get any financial support from the local government, anything to do with baseball, including local and international tours are self-funded by the player/coach/administrator/technical etc.

Ethan and Leah's Dad, Glen will be heading up the National u23 Baseball team as Head Coach, participating in the WBSC World Cup later this year, but that's a story for later this year.

The local tour to Durban will cost around R 10 000, excluding uniforms.

If all goes well and our family is blessed by being selected for all the upcoming tours, we we have to come up with R 150 000 (Baseball, Hockey, Choir | National and International Tours)
