Barn Raising: Help A Struggling Family Keep Their Home

Hello everyone,

My name is Mariah, I live in NE PA, USA with my small family: My fiance Ronnie, our almost 3 year old son Damien, and our kitties. About a year ago we were evicted from our apartment in Chicago, so a friend drove us out to my home town in PA so we could start fresh. Over the past year we've struggled, but were generally stable and things were starting to look up some. Early last month, my fiance learned that he was fired from his job, out of nowhere. While they said he was a good worker and would give him a good recommendation for his next job, we were suddenly left with no income source. To top it off, the same day he was fired, my mom in NY had a heart attack. All of his last check went towards me going to NY to be with my mom and make sure she would get well. As well as a light bill payment. We were left with just enough to buy a bag of cat food and a few bags of instant noodles and $1 tv dinners to feed ourselves. After almost a month of applying for jobs, being denied for unemployment, and just trying all we could to get back on our feet, rent is due. Our landlord is a very gracious man, who would likely give us 10 days or so to come up with the money before things turned even worse on us. It's already winter here in these parts, with temps dropping daily, we really need help keeping a roof over our heads. We already have lost our heat, we don't need to lose our home. My fiance and I are working daily to try and find employment again so we can once again rebuild our lives.

I came here to hopefully find an angel, a hero, to help us. I understand 800 is a lot of money to need at once, but any amount would go towards keeping us in our home. My son turns 3 this month, his birthday is already at risk of not happening, I really don't want him to be homeless for his 3rd birthday. I hate to ask people to help us, but when you've exhausted every option, and have nobody else to turn to, it becomes a means to an end. Please help if you can, I hope someone out there sees this and can help. This year has been so rough and we really need some amazing people to help pick us back up again. I could go on, but I won't keep anyone longer than I have. I just ask you if you're looking for worthy person to brighten their day, we really could use a light to see us through this darkness.
