Campaign Story
Bandit’s BandAid is a nonprofit organization that provides need-based financial assistance for all breeds of dogs requiring urgent and emergency veterinary care. It helps dogs that are in rescue, foster care, or in private ownership throughout the USA. Assistance is based upon: (a) the urgency and the severity of the dog's medical condition; (b) the financial need of the applicant; and (c) the availability of funds to help. The ultimate goal of Bandit’s BandAid is for no owner to be forced to make emergency treatment decisions for a beloved dog based solely upon finances.
Bandit’s BandAid relies 100 percent on the support it receives though donations along with the discounts it is sometimes able to negotiate with medical providers. Most funds are paid directly to the medical provider at the time services are rendered. Those services include the costs of surgery, hospital stays, check ups and evaluations, physical therapy and the purchase of prescription medications, medical equipment and supplies as necessary. New or gently used mobility equipment for dogs that need wheeled carts, harnesses and related supplies will also be provided.
At this time Bandit’s BandAid’s primary medical assistance fund, the Lindy Legacy Fund, is completely depleted. A series of emergencies has accounted for the expenditure of its balance. At the same time the demand for our assistance has increased significantly as the public has become more aware of our organization, and because other medical assistance programs have either closed down or temporarily stopped providing help due to a lack of resources.
Your donations to this fundraiser will be used to fulfill our mission of providing critical veterinary care to dogs in need, like those we are helping in the photos above. If you prefer to send a check, you may do so by making checks out to Bandit’s BandAid Inc. and sending them to PO Box 968, Newburgh, IN 47629. Thank you!
