Over the last two weeks, I’ve been volunteering in two schools in a small fishing village called Tianyar in Bali.
On a morning, I teach Kindergarten (under 6 years old). In the afternoon, I teach pre-school, which is children ranging in age from 7 to 11.
Both of these schools are comprised of children whose families unfortunately cannot afford to pay tuition for standard government schools. With that said, the schools are extremely basic with very little supplies. While I teach, the students sit on small benches in the dirt and, unlike most schools in England, the children are not lucky enough to have things such as pens, notebooks, etc. provided to them.
I have one more week of teaching in Bali, and before leaving, I would love to raise money in order to buy some supplies for the children. Having been with them two weeks, I know that they would be so happy and appreciative. They get excited about so many things that many of us take for granted, such as learning a new song or being gifted a pen.
Any amount you are able to donate will go a long way; the cost of supplies in Bali are a lot cheaper than the UK. Please note that 100% of the money raised will be used to buy supplies for the children. I am hoping to get photos and videos when I present the supplies to the children, so that you can see how much of an impact your generosity has made. Thank you in advance!
