Background
For the past year, members of the Burlington (N.C.) Assembly of God's children ministry have been preparing for a mission's trip to Ica, Perú. They selected this city because during the past five years, this region has been affected by several earthquakes.
The trip
As part of the trip, the group will be working with the local Assembly of God church in Ica. They will minister during regular services at the church and will visit several schools in the area, as well as help with construction projects as needed. They will also bring hygene products to distribute to people in the community.
The group has held several fundraising events in Burlington, N.C., including yard and food sales. While the contributions from members of the church and the community have been generous, the group is still in need of funds to cover travel expenses.
