This is Thraven John Nakar, born last September 20, 2019 at only 28 weeks.

He was confined in the hospital since birth until about a month ago. He had several diagnosed infections in relation to him being born prematurely. He also had pneumonia prior to being discharged. The medical bills piled up and Thraven was only allowed to leave the hospital after they given a percentage of the total bill together with a promissory note.

Last January 4, 2020 they went to an ophthalmologist for a supposed routine eye check up but the ophthalmologist informed the parents of Thraven that he has Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP). ROP is an eye disease affecting premature babies which causes abnormal blood vessels to grow in the retina that eventually lead to blindness if not properly and timely treated.

Thraven was then brought to the hospital, his eyes were injected to stop further damage. His new opthalmologist said that it could have been prevented if he was accurately diagnosed at an earlier time. The injected medicine didn't work as much as the family had hoped. His diagnosis is ROP Stage 4B, wherein at this stage retinal detachment has already taken place. They were advised to go to Manila to seek further medical help. Baby Thraven and his mom flew to Manila to have his eyes checked. Thraven is under further observation as of this moment but he may undergo Scleral Buckle Surgery to save even a portion of his eyesight.

We are seeking financial help to anyone who can give assistance to Thraven and his family.
