Baby Liam operation

Lian Dube affectionately known as Spongebob is a 1 year 6 month old baby boy who developed hydrocephalus due to menengitis, he was prematurely born at 31 weeks weighing 1.4kg.

He currently has a sub standard shunt in his head that does not properly drain the excess fluid in his brain, but qualified for a magnetic shant unfortunately the funds for this procedure have not been easy to source as Lians mother is unemployed, single and has to tend to baby Lian full Time.

Currently Lian is in Johannesburg and has been operated on 8 times since birth, he has recently gone blind due to the pressure build up in his head and has also recently diagnosed with epilepsy and this has been a strain on the mother as the medication for epilepsy does not come cheap.
A recent CT scan shows that 90 percent of his head is water and 10 percent is the brain, this means that chances of him walking, talking and having normal brain activity have been minimized.

Spongebob is desperately in need of an operation to insert a magnetic valve shanty as this will work better in draining the excess water in the head and giving him a better opportunity in life.
