On March 25th, Kennedy Jane Shorten was born through an emergency C-section. Baby Kennedy was not breathing due to a knotted umbilical cord around her neck which restricted her air.
She was without oxygen for near 30 minutes before birth. After the C-section she was life flighted to St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. Doctor's were finally able to resuscitate her. Unfortunately Baby Kennedy had been without oxygen for too long and was not anticipated to be able to live much longer as a result. An MRI confirmed that Baby Kennedy had lost all brain function due to a lack of oxygen during labor. ??Baby Kennedy returned to her Heavenly Father on March 30th, 2014.
We appreciate all those who have taken the time to fast and pray for baby Kennedy. Meghan and Todd feel blessed that their baby will be able to bless other infants by donating away her vital organs.
