Baby Jeagrylle’s fight for precious life

Baby Jeagrylle was born premature, 9 weeks earlier than EDD through the help of vacuum assisted delivery due to a medical condition preenclampsia. Unfortunately, the baby suffered to BPD or Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia because the lungs are still immature and needed to be put on ventilator. However, this does not give an assurance that he can withstand the constant pressure from the respirator. Given that he also has a weak heart which bp occasionally drops to 65bpm.

Baby Jeagrylle was just 1.8 kg at birth and given his lungs were underdeveloped, he has been kept in an incubator to help him breath and was fed by a tube. (currently in Asian Hospital, which I am more worried aside from the expensive stay is the fact that it has cases of Covid 19 patients). Health of everyone is without a doubt at high risk. We pray vigorously.

Jeager and I both live in the Philippines and are currently unemployed since we are affected by the Covid 19 pandemic affecting our works in a cruise ship. Cruise lines are temporarily shut down until further notice. Until then, we have no source of income and both of us experience considerable inequities in health and care and high levels of out of pocket costs.

We both suffered challenges around bringing baby Jeagylle at home, as patients are often detained at hospitals here in the Philippines until bills have been paid. We received temporary assistance from relatives and friends and we have also provided promissory note to the hospital that is taking the best care for our precious baby.

We go back and forth from the hospital over the coming weeks. The financial burden and stress are taking its stoll on us since our savings have all been used up and we dont have assets to mortgage either.

We fought hard and will continuously live on this battle to fight for our baby's life.

So far, the hospital bills have reached 203,000 pesos and we have paid only a quarter of it. We are reaching for your kindest and softest hearts to extend help for us and save the life of our precious baby Jeagrylle.

I know for a fact that everybody is suffering amidst the crisis that we are all facing but I am sincerely and humbly asking for your generous heart to spread love and care for our little angel.
