BABY BIANCA’S LOVING FLAME

Hello! I am Charisse and I am from the Philippines. Early this year, my nephew, Mackie, and his wife, Maryflor, got the greatest gift they could ever have when she became pregnant with their first child. They were expecting their child to be borne by September. Unfortunately, complications caused Maryflor to deliver the baby prematurely. On July 5, 2017, at a local hospital in Binan City, Province of Laguna, Bianca Shanika Mae was born.

Although baby Bianca was born via normal delivery, she is only 1.09 kg, thus, the necessity of putting her in an incubator. Worse, she is found to be suffering from sepsis neonatorum, respiratory distress syndrome, and just recently, a swelling of the intestines.

Baby Bianca’s birth caused joy and happiness not only to Mackie and Maryflor but also to their respective families, and the couple would always say that baby Bianca is the loving flame that shines so brightly on their lives. However, it cannot be denied that they are deeply burdened by baby Bianca’s health condition. Mackie just recently lost his job while Maryflor is a minimum wage earner at a local café, and has yet to report back for work as she is on a maternity leave. They have started seeking assistance from local government agencies as well as non-governmental organizations. But still, the assistance they got is still insufficient to cover the daily expenses of paying the hospital bills for the use of the incubator and other apparatuses, as well as for baby Bianca’s medication. Things got from bad to worse when they were told that baby Bianca’s intestines are beginning to swell and that there might be a need for her to undergo an operation.

On behalf of Mackie and Maryflor, I am appealing to your kind hearts for financial assistance to support baby Bianca’s continuous medication and possible operation. Help us so that baby Bianca’s loving flame would continue to shine brightly.
