Ba Vi Orphanage, Vietnam

I have spent the best part of my working life supporting young people and children with Mental Health problems and Learning Diabilities. As many of us know, there has always been a lack of understanding and a shortfall in funding within this area.  As part of the western world over the last 20 years, we have come on in leaps and bounds in our understanding and techniques in helping young people affected by these issues. Unfortunately this cannot be said for other parts of the world and many families are unable to support their children with additional needs and in some areas very little education exists. 

 I need some additional funds to contribute towards  my volunteering trip to work with children and young people with mental health problems and learning disabilitues. I will be based at the Ba Vi Orphange which is 90 miles from Hanio in Vietnam. The orpahange operates on a very tight budget and relies on volunteers from all over the world to support and contribute to the running of the home and to enable the children to benefit from a diverse workgroup.   

During my time in Vietnam, I will be keeping a diary blog, inclusive of pictures and will regularly update those who have been kind enough to contribute on my time spent at the Ba Vi Orphange. This will give you all an awareness of how your contributions are being used and what a difference volunteers make to the lives of those struggling against all odds.
