Ive matriculated from high school in 2006 and have been struggling to complete my BA degree due to the fact that we don't have enough bursaries for aspiring female directors or producers in the film industry. We create great entertainment everyday but our career choices are not taken seriously. I've tried so many sponsor to fund my dream of becoming this world renowned female director/producer from South Africa but no luck so far. I want to prove to everybody that females in the film industry are just as creative as your male directors. I would like to study until I get my PhD in the creative arts. I've been studying through the University of South Africa just to kick start everything but ive managed to pay for half of my first semester so I did not receive my results and my student account had been blocked since then. I would really love to change the way that look at Durban. So many talented artists are from Durban but all the broadcasting facilities are in Johannesburg. Getting my degree would be a step closer to getting Durban compensated for all the talent they produce, knowing that artists don't need to go to Johannesburg and be homeless first in order to fulfill their dreams in the entertainment industry especially acting. By continuing to study further and obtaining my PhD I'd be volunteering my time and effort by teaching other young females like myself to become great leaders in the entertainment industry.
