Ayudemos a Eka <3

Hi, my name is Eka. I'm 25 and live in Costa Rica, where Covid vaccines --as of July 2021-- are not fully available for my age group. About a month ago I contracted Covid and developed severe complications post-infection and had to seek private care to save my life. I’m now left with thousands of dollars in medical bills and I’m still unable to work due to my illness.

Here is my story: After my initial diagnosis I was admitted to a public hospital and kept there for five days. I lost a lot of weight and was very weak. I could not walk or talk because my oxygen was still low and was recovering slowly. A week later when I seemed to be improving, I started coughing blood, and developed strong pain in my right lung. I took myself to the ER but was told not to worry, that that was normal! Later that day the pain got so strong that I went to a private hospital where after a CAT scan I was diagnosed with post covid pulmonary fibrosis and pneumonia. Fortunately, I was put on a treatment that is helping me recover; however, because of all of this, I lost my job and income and are now left with up to $4K in medical bills--which is a lot of money down here. I am still very weak and unable to work and only getting by due to the generosity of my friends. Please consider donating to my cause to help me get back on my feet. Thank you!

Hola soy Eka y estoy tratando de sobrellevar complicaciones de las secuelas del Covid 19

Hace un mes me diagnosticaron y estuve internada en el hospital Calderón 5 días ya que mi nivel de saturación de oxigeno era de 87%, no podía respirar, tenía fiebre y mareos. Después de varios días con asistencia de oxigeno logre llegar mi nivel a mas de 90% y me dieron de alta, sin embargo, sali muy débil, perdí mucho peso, al principio no podía caminar ni hablar porque me quedaba sin aire. Mi proceso de recuperación fue lento y una semana después cuando parecía estar mejorando comencé a toser sangre, y a sentir un fuerte dolor en el pulmón derecho. Ese mismo día fui al medio día a emergencias del hospital San Juan de Dios y me dijeron que no me preocupara que era normal. Conforme paso el día el dolor se fue agravando, hasta el punto donde tuve que acudir de emergencia a un hospital privado donde me observaron, me hicieron un TAC y descubrieron que tenía el pulmón derecho muy afectado por fibrosis y neumonía. Inmediatamente me pusieron en tratamiento y me internaron. Afortunadamente reaccionamos a tiempo, la respuesta en el hospital fue rápida, el diagnostico fue acertado y el tratamiento esta haciendo efecto. Tomando en cuenta que tengo un mes de estar enferma, no he podido trabajar y necesito ayuda para poder cubrir los gastos de este hospital.
