Que es la estenosis de la arteria carótida?

La estenosis de la arteria carótida es un angostamiento de las grandes arterias que se encuentran a ambos lados del cuello que transportan sangre hacia la cabeza, la cara y el cerebro. Este angostamiento generalmente es el resultado de una acumulación de placa dentro de las arterias, una condición llamada aterosclerosis o arteriosclerosis. La estenosis puede empeorar a lo largo del tiempo hasta bloquear completamente la arteria, causando un derrame cerebral.

Kevin ya lleva un mes y medio que fue al doctor para hacerse un chequeo, ya que todo empezó un día por la mañana cuando perdió la vista del ojo izquierdo alrededor de una hora y media, junto con fuertes dolor de cabeza del lado izquierdo. Anteriormente me comentaba que estos ataque de perdida de vista duraban menos de 30 segundos y la vista regresaba a la normalidad, pero hace pocos días el ataque duro mas de lo que regularmente duran ya que paso casi mas de día y medio sin poder ver con el ojo izquierdo, se le hizo prueba con luz en el ojo para saber si la iris se contraía o se expandía al momento de tener contacto con la luz pero desafortunada mente aun con la luz directamente al ojo, la iris no reaccionaba.

Hago esta donación sin ningún fin de lucro, lo hago porque mi primo, casi hermano necesita ayuda ya que los riesgos de que esto siga son fatales, el vive solo en el estado de san luis potosí, México, estudia y trabaja, se levanta temprano para poder ir al trabajo y también a la escuela por la tarde y salir ya noche.

Aquí los riesgos de que esto se deje pasar por alto:

*Coágulos de sangre o sangrado en el cerebro
*Daño cerebral
*Ataque cardíaco
*Más bloqueo de la arteria carótida con el tiempo
*Convulsiones
*Accidente cerebro vascular
*Hinchazón cerca de la vía respiratoria (el conducto a través del cual se respira)
*Infección
*Otras complicaciones poco frecuentes son ataque del corazón y muerte súbita de causa cardíaca
*Existe un riesgo de derrame cerebral cuando se hace angioplastía y/o se coloca un stent en la arteria carótida.

La única solución que se puede llevar acabo es una angioplastia con colocación de stent, la cual tiene un costo muy elevado alrededor de 36 a 38 mil pesos. Debido a que estudia y trabaja no le es suficiente el dinero para ahorrar para la cirugía, ademas de eso tiene que sustentarse pagando renta y comida. al igual que transporte para ir a ambos destinos.
