Ayesha who is battling Nephrotic Syndrome needs our help

Ayesha’s condition is now Stage 5 of Chronic Kidney Disease

A person with stage 5 chronic kidney disease has end stage renal disease (ESRD) with a glomerular filtration rate (GFR) of 15 ml/min or less. At this advanced stage of kidney disease, the kidneys have lost nearly all their ability to do their job effectively, and eventually dialysis or a kidney transplant is needed to live.

Symptoms of stage 5 CKD

Symptoms that can occur in stage 5 CKD include:

▪ Loss of appetite

▪ Nausea or vomiting

▪ Headaches

▪ Being tired

▪ Being unable to concentrate

▪ Itching

▪ Making little or no urine

▪ Swelling, especially around the eyes and ankles

▪ Muscle cramps

▪ Tingling in hands or feet

▪ Changes in skin color

▪ Increased skin pigmentation

Because the kidneys are no longer able to remove waste and fluids from the body, toxins build up in the blood, causing an overall ill feeling. Kidneys also have other functions they are no longer able to perform such as regulating blood pressure, producing the hormone that helps make red blood cells and activating vitamin D for healthy bones.

Dialysis treatments for people with stage 5 CKD

Most people report feeling much better once they begin dialysis. As the toxins are removed from the blood medicines replace the functions the kidneys can no longer perform, they find they can enjoy a good quality of life.

There are two types of dialysis treatments for people with stage 5 kidney disease which Ayesha is undergoing:

Hemodialysis: This treatment that can be done in a center or in a patient’s home with assistance from a care partner. A dialysis machine removes a small amount of a patient’s blood through a man-made membrane called a dialyzer, or artificial kidney, to clean out toxins that the kidneys can no longer remove. The filtered blood is then returned to the body.

Peritoneal dialysis (PD): Unlike hemodialysis, PD is a needle-free treatment and a care partner is not required to to help assist during treatment. PD can be performed at home or at work.

Kidney transplant is another treatment option

When at stage 5 CKD, either dialysis or a kidney transplant is necessary to continue living.

#Update Today will be Ayesha’s 2nd day of hemo dialysis. As per her nephro, she is advised to have Daily dialysis. The Main concern on her case is that her sodium level is too low and the Edema on her tummy. They have to be very careful in adding up sodium on her as it might affect her neuro system (brain) and her lungs which may accumulate water. She started having dry cough since yesterday. The 1st session went well. Praise God, there were no major complications during the procedure and pls continue praying that she will be safe during and after the sessions most specially for her complete recovery.

To everyone who is reading this post, on behalf of my niece Ayesha Andreanelle, who is suffering with nephrotic syndrome and is battling with kidney failure, please help her in any way you can to add more years to her life. Let’s help her find a kidney donor and please continue to pray for her complete recovery. God bless you all!!!

Update from Ayesha’s mom:
No matter how we have tried to save her from end renal stage but my fear became a reality today. Last night around 2300hrs she had pre seizure- she couldnt recognize me and my mom for like 3minutes. Staring at us like we are strangers to her and couldn’t talk properly (stuttering). Her edema have reached to its worst - her urine is low though she is taking up high dosage of diuretics - everything is failing.

Today, we were told that she has to start dialysis to save her as toxins in her body is out of control already. Doctor even said we can start looking for #kidneydonor as early as possible so that they can start work ups.

#helpayesha help me find a donor. Help me save her. Help me give her a hope to live longer. Help 🙏🏻

Hello everyone, we are really desperate to look for a B+ kidney organ donor for my 12 year old niece who has nephrotic syndrome. The filters in her kidneys are no longer functioning and her kidneys are 12% functioning nalang po as of the moment. The Plasmapheresis sort of a dialysis treatment are doing no good on her kidneys. Her antibodies are attacking her kidneys and her condition is the steroid-resistant kind. If you can share this or know anyone please let them message us. Thank you.

Heartfelt gratitude to people who have been sharing their blessings, well-wishes and prayers to our Sweet Niece Ayesha. May God bless you more and your pure hearts and families. ❤️

We appreciate all the help everyone has been contributing. ❤️

Day 25 - tomorrow will be ayesha’s schedule for Rituximab Infusion. This medicine will cost us 110,000 pesos pesos 1vial. Rituximab is used to treat certain types of cancer (such as non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia). It works by slowing or stopping the growth of cancer cells but in yesha’s case, this will be used to suppresed her immune system in producing harmful antibodies whose attacking her kidneys. There is no guarantee that she will be well just like plasmapheresis but doctors are doing all the possible treatment to prevent her from Dialysis.
