AY Group Community Services is a Charity who aim to relieve our community from poverty.
Since the beginning of the Pandemic, food insecurity boomed in the country. We reacted by providing to food banks, providing food packages and learning courses.

Since 2012, AY Group has helped over 6000 people, including 800+ people who attended courses and workshops, 700 people who found voluntary or Work placements and over 600 people who are now in full-time employment. Outsourcing our work to areas such as Tower Hamlet, Hackney, Newham, Southwark, Hammersmith, Westminster.

We saw that a lot needs to be done, and that is why we want to open a Community Hub.

This ‘Community Hub’ will host training courses, educational classes, lifestyle and health sessions, cooking classes, and other informational sessions, as well as be a hub for information and resources (for example, housing assistance or counseling programs in the area).
There will also be support groups of many varieties, space for clubs and youth groups, and meeting spaces for anyone to conduct business, learn, or gather. One of our potential revenue streams will be from “room renting”.

Additionally, to increase the ability to for connection building and allow for wider access to our services, as well as act as a provision in case of Covid-19 restrictions or lack of ability to attend our physical hub, many courses, classes, and other resources will be made available on our online ‘Virtual Community Hub’.

Our planned Community Hub will stand as an inclusive and educational centre for skill growth and development, collaboration, community healing and cohesion- and most importantly, it will be centered around the needs of the community.

The voices of the community members will be essential in our ability to provide the best and most needed services possible, as the community members are the ones who know their community’s needs and wants best.

That in turn will help to address multiple causes of poverty, including a lack of access to resources, information, and most especially education.

We believe that education is the key to rising out of poverty, and it too often is the reason that poverty continues as a cycle within communities around the UK, especially BAME communities.

We hope that the hub will lead to a decrease in crime, as many who may have engaged in crime will have resources available to them that were not there before.

Additionally, a rise in employment thanks to our courses and training will lead to self-sufficiency and the ability for many to provide for themselves and their families. A sense of belonging is also essential to uplifting any community.

With this hub, a centre for camaraderie, learning, and sharing, we believe that new connections will be forged, a common interest and goal will work to unite the people we will be serving.

By donating, you will make the Community Hub possible and make it easier for our youths to find training and get employed, but also help low-income families eating healthy meals, helping home-bound and disabled people get food at their doors, and propose more activities to our community.

Together we are stronger, will you make this dream come true ?
