I am Professor Wing Commander Dr. Alok Chandra Veteran, an entrepreneur, professor, project management expert, professional trainer and life coach based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Over three decades I have worked on a wide range of international assignments for many multinational corporations, earning numerous awards and accolades for my work as an operations project management expert overseeing projects with billion-dollar budgets. I am a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt with a doctoral degree in International Trade from the University of Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. Help Morale Boasting of Teachers who worked amazingly and taught students digitally during the Coronavirus onslaught

We aim to celebrate the teaching profession who has risen to occasion to impart education to children digitally by adopting unique methods. They are real Warrior who is imparting knowledge through innovative and path-breaking ways to young learners.

There is no doubt that coronavirus has rocked our world. While millions are struggling worldwide, , pervasive challenges remain for hundreds of thousands of school children whose lives were upended by “stay-at-home” orders everywhere.

As per United Nations Policy Brief: Education during COVID-19 and beyond

The COVID-19 pandemic has created the largest disruption of education systems in history, affecting nearly 1.6 billion learners in more than 190 countries and all continents. Closures of schools and other learning spaces have impacted 94 per cent of the

world’s student population, up to 99 per cent in low and lower-middle income countries.

The crisis is exacerbating pre-existing education disparities by reducing the opportunities

for many of the most vulnerable children, youth, and adults – those living in poor or rural areas, girls, refugees, persons with disabilities and forcibly displaced persons – to continue their learning. Learning losses also threaten to extend beyond this generation and erase decades of progress, not least in support of girls and young women’s educational access and retention. Some 23.8 million additional children and youth (from pre-primary to tertiary) may drop out or not have access to school next year due to the pandemic’s economic impact alone.

This crisis has stimulated innovation within the education sector. We have seen innovative approaches in support of education and training continuity: from radio and television to take-home packages.

We have also been reminded of the essential role of teachers and that governments and other key partners have an ongoing duty of care to education personnel. But these changes have also highlighted that the promising future of learning, and the accelerated changes in modes of delivering quality education, cannot be separated from the imperative of leaving no one behind. This is true for children and youth affected by a lack of resources or enabling environment to access learning. It is true for the teaching profession and their need for better training in new methods of education delivery, as well as support. Last but not least, this is true for the education community at large, including local communities, upon whom education continuity depends during crisis and who are key to building back better. The COVID-19 crisis and the unparalleled education disruption is far from over. As many as 100 countries have yet to announce a date for schools to reopen and across the world, governments, unions, parents and children are grappling with when and how to approach the next phase.

During a pandemic, the absence of education would have become a significant social, political, economic crisis behind the mental health issues around the world. We believe the efforts of teachers has been able to alleviate the effect of a pandemic to a certain extent.

Teachers work tirelessly to provide an education for children around the world so the status of teachers is critically important to our global future

As global education systems adapt to new and unfamiliar terrain, the one voice that should never be drowned out is that of the teacher. As schools have been forced to shut their gates, parents and students know their real value – and the lessons they teach us all far beyond the classroom.

We will be honouring teachers and supporting teachers as they continue to inspire us. Even as the world shifts under their feet, isn’t just the right thing to do, it’s the wellspring of our future. We recognise and celebrate the impact that teachers have around the world – not only on their students but on the communities around them. The Global Digital Teacher Excellence Awards recognises and honours the efforts of the teachers in the education sector during a pandemic. We will be celebrating the teachers in a virtual awards presentation ceremony on the 27th of November 2020. Please join us in congratulating them and acknowledging the fantastic work they do!

The Award is open to all Teachers across the world teaching students in kindergarten, schools, colleges, universities and any other Education & Training institutes. There are various categories of awards divided by age group & levels taught. Besides, there are also awards open for participation from all levels of education
