Awaited Dreams at UCT

Please Help a Young Black girl achieve her dreams.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to read this.

I am TIdimalo Manana a 19 year old unemployed student living in Gauteng. In the year 2020 I was looking forward to going to a tertiary institution (like any other normal 18 year old) ,unfortunately my hope was short lived as I got rejected from most institutions including UCT not only that financial unavailability made it a slim to none chance for me going to one . I am hoping to change that this year with help from you of course .

I recently got accepted to the University of Cape Town - which has always been a dream of mine and to say I was excited is an understatement sadly, it seems my dreams are going to have to be cut short as yet again financial lack is the biggest obstacle. I know that the global pandemic has caused a dire financial strain in most homes -including mine -and the have been drastic changes in finances in homes, things went from affording desires to affording what is needed and in a home like mine with siblings parents were forced to live from cheque to cheque and some could not even afford basic needs.

I had applied for alternative funding and got rejected and as NFSAS continued to disappoint students all over the country it made it impossible for me to have even a glimmer of hope. I could not even travel to orientation because my parents could not afford to send me there or even find me accommodation there .It would be too much to even ask for an amount for my fees especially with what is happening in the world right now , but if I can at least raise funds for my registration I am able to study from home and see my way forward throughout the year.

The registration fee is R28 500 and if I can get at least 300 people to pay R100 in to this fund it would cover the first few months of my fees and I am able to register . Not only would this be blessing but I would be eternally grateful for all the help I can get .
