As I sat with Hawaiian elder Puna Keli'iho'omalu outside in the garden of his family's home in the jungle of Kalapana, we looked at the night sky, the stars, the trees rustling in a light breeze, and listened to the chirping insects, and the children inside singing freely, embraced by warm, sweet smelling air.

Breaking the silence, he said softly,

“...soon it will be gone...”

and his eyes filled with tears.

We shared a moment of appreciating this time in history where humanity sits on the brink of crippling both that which supports life, the natural world, and that which makes us feel alive, our free spirit.  

I believe that we can make a more harmonious world, if we act courageously as individuals and collectively, and look for answers inside our own hearts to find our own truth, and in doing so the path forward to a sustainable and balanced world will be clear.

Average Joe 2 Football Pro, is for me a journey of more deeply understanding myself and the world I find myself in, as much as it is a journey of becoming a complete athlete.

I believe in the spirit of humanity to overcome any obstacle, and to achieve anything that can be envisioned. This includes saving ourselves from ourselves, and creating an abundant, free, open society, incorporating current technology to work harmoniously with nature.

I hold a degree in Civil Engineering from Glasgow University, and despite largely abandoning the developed/technological world during my time in Hawaii, I am fascinated by the creations of the human race, and believe that by combining the best technological discoveries with a deepening respect and understanding of the natural world, we can create a very beautiful world indeed, of unlimited abundance for all people.

Utopian thinking perhaps, however if any species can do it, it is surely humanity.

Returning to natural principles of simple living, and re-connecting with the spirit of love and peace that we are born with in our hearts, we are able to pursue a life that is both harmonious with the natural world, and one that reveals deep joy and an appreciation for life in our hearts.

By choosing paths through life that resonate deeply with our spirit, and our mind, we are free.

As John Lennon sang, "all we need is love", as in this state of being, we are able to share what nature gives and live in balanceand harmony with the world around us.

Love is patient, love is kind.

It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Through my football ambition, and in addition to it, I aim to contribute to the realisation and development of;

• Equality and respect between all people, nature and animals,

• Shared global resources,

• Sustainable/green/free energy projects,

• Tesla technology in transport and energy generation

• Natural eating and living practices,

• Foods such as spirulina, to address world hunger and poverty issues

• Reforestation programs,

• Organic/natural/local food growing,

• Other hippy things, such as arts and music

Monies raised to support my journey will be used in the following areas;

• Half of the target value, will go towards training sessions which I aim to arrange with Swedish 2nd division club Landskrona Bois, managed by Celtic legend Henrik Larsson, to raise my ability sufficiently before the start of the 2013 season.

• Rent and food expenses for 4 months

• Membership at the gym

• Training sessions in mixed martial arts to prepare me for the physical element of the game

• A bicycle for use in training and transport.

I aim to be signed by Landskrona before the beginning of next season, which begins March 2013.
