Automatic Wine Cellar Management

My life experience has been focused in the software and hardware industry, internet and new technologies. I held different positions in several high tech companies up to executive levels.

Few years back, I decided to follow a passion of mine, Wine, and decided to acquire a retail wine merchant in the Los Angeles area. The interesting part was that I always wanted to avoid being on the retail side as I had no real experience and as everyone knows it is a bumpy road and uncertain.

Now, four years later, I start to see very positive results of my long hours of hard work. While running this retail business, listening and talking to customers, I noticed several things that could be improved by using technology and that would revolutionize part of this industry and passion.

I noticed that my customers that are collecting wines had the same problems I had in two different fields. Hence, I came with two very original products ideas that this industry lack of.

I am a man of action, tenacious, and seeking positive results, I just recently decided to act on one of the products and raise funding to make it happen.

It is very interesting to come with products ideas and in a way it is easy. I believe that the main difference between successful people and less successful ones are the first one take actions, hence why you are reading this now!

Most of us either love wines or like wines. Some more than others and some collect each bottle as a treasure and end up building a large collection that they might never even drink during their live. My passion drove me to be in the wine retail industry and to overcome the challenges of the retail industry and now are driving me to be a catalyst that will change how aficionado are managing their wine cellar.

Collectors, retailers, restaurants, hotels have large collections without having the ability to manage their inventory automatically with accuracy and this results in the waste of some good bottles along with money.

How would you (wines aficionado) like to have the ability to know exactly what you have in your wine cellar(s), where each bottle is located, what to drink this bottle with, how much your inventory is worth, what to drink now and what to wait on..?

Our project is to develop a solution that will address this big gap between reality and the “I don't know what I have or where it is”. Such solution is composed of an application along with some hardware parts that will allow you to perform such functions.

This is the dream of any wine collector, sommelier, wineries, winemaker…
