Using an automated system to collect liquid samples in a plant environment, more accurate sample collection is possible. Sensors monitor the system to determine exact state of the sytem and control the process. The automated system reduces risk of operator error conserves resources. The system can collect samples based on environmental input automatically, not requiring operator to be present.
The sytem uses 2 valves to collect and dispense the sample. Based on the design contaminates are eliminated from the sample and being introduced into the process being sampled. The system uses a set volume and takes a representative inline sample of the process. Can be designed around any liquid being sampled.
As of now the design is on paper. I have met with a couple vendors and acquired quotes for the parts that will make up the system.
This automated system is the first of its kind. Using a low cost, but highly reliable controller, this automated sampling system will revolutionize process plant sampling.
Currently, $10,000 is needed for parts and tools to build the system. I have already purchased the controller however the materials (stainless steel tubing, valves, wire, terminal blocks, enclosure, transducers, etc.), including some tools (tubing benders, wrenches, drill) still need to be purchased.
